RHS ATE SOFTWARE2 SETUP

1. Download the updated Software2.zip. If Windows shows an Unblock checkbox
in the ZIP's Properties, select it before extracting.
2. Extract into C:\admin. The ZIP contains Software2, so the final launcher
   should be C:\admin\Software2\RHS_ATE_Setup.cmd.
Use a fresh extraction folder rather than mixing old package versions.
3. Right-click RHS_ATE_Setup.cmd and select Run as administrator.
Confirm the standard production account at the prompt (ProductionLine
by default). Sign into that account once beforehand to create its profile.
Setup automatically unblocks all files in its folder and subfolders,
including the VS Code installer, before installing software. If a file
cannot be unblocked, setup stops and reports the error in its log.
4. Complete each installation wizard using default options. Choose Restart
later when offered. Confirm YES only after NI Package Manager reports
success. Internet access is required by NI online installers and pip.
5. If setup requests a restart, restart and run the same launcher again.
Successfully completed installers are skipped. Unexpected errors stop
setup; resolve the error and rerun. Existing installations from BEFORE
this revised script are not automatically marked complete.
6. At the prompt, activate NI TestStand with the approved account and serial.
Verify activation success, then close TestStand and the operator interface.
   Type YES to
   deploy cfg contents to:
   C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\TestStand 2023 (64-bit)\Cfg
Previous configuration is backed up before overwriting matching files.
UserInterface.xml is also backed up and copied into the confirmed
   production user's AppData\Local\National Instruments\TestStand 2023 (64-bit).
   Repeated runs preserve configuration already applied by this package;
only type REAPPLY if intentionally resetting system Cfg from the package.
7. Restart, sign in as the standard production user, and run the bundled
   VSCodeUserSetup-x64-1.92.2.exe normally (not as administrator).
8. Obtain the VPN profile assigned to this specific machine from IT/DevOps.
No shared VPN profile is included in this release.
9. Verify VPN/database access, TestStand,
operator interface and a representative test sequence.
In the production user's Sequence Editor, open
   C:\Users\Public\Documents\TestExe\exampleTemplate 2022.seq and copy
FileGlobals.Info to StationGlobals.Info, then save the station globals.
Verify VPN automatic connection at login with IT; setup does not configure it.

PYTHON AND LANGUAGE NOTES
Python follows the original per-user installation requirement, with files
at C:\Python312 and the py launcher for all users. Per-user registration
belongs to the administrator account running setup. The script
adds both Python directories to the machine PATH without duplicate entries. Validate
Python from the production account using C:\Python312\python.exe.
requirements.txt is installed automatically using this exact interpreter.
Some dependencies additionally require Tesseract OCR / Visual C++ 2013 x64;
see requirements.txt. These separate prerequisites are not installed here.

The language commands require supported Windows 11. English display
resources must already be installed. Current setup user, welcome screen and
new-user defaults are set to English (US), US keyboard and US region.
Existing production profiles must be checked separately in Windows Settings.

LOGS AND RESUME
Logs, completed.json and Cfg backups: C:\ProgramData\RHS-ATE-Setup
Resume records are based on installer file hashes and arguments; they are
not a full inventory of installed software. If software is later removed,
its completion record must be cleared before using setup to reinstall it.
The setup does not claim full machine readiness until manual checks pass.

See ATE_PC_Installation_Guide.docx version 0.2 for the full procedure,
correct file destinations, manual settings and acceptance checks.

For a non-installing package check, run:
powershell.exe -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\RHS_ATE_Setup.ps1 -CheckOnly
